I have this problem where messenger hangs at login. It simply does not load, then I try opening it and it brings up a seperate process. I close all processes and try it again. Same problem. After about 3 days it loads randomly while I am gaming or doing something important. This is a hassle for me and I am wondering if anyone else has this issue, and if they found a way around it. If your answer involves some amateur spyware remover please don't bother, I have very good protection provided by Avast. Although if you think there is a conflict with this software please let me know. Anyway if you have had this problem I would like to find a way to keep mesenger working while fixing the problem.

First... Don't you just LOVE AVAST?? After using Norton and watching my PC move at half-speed, it sure is refreshing to be protected and have my processing speed back!!

I have 2 suggestions...

First: I would check to see if the Windows Firewall is on. If it is, try turning it off to see if MSN Messenger loads faster. If that doesn't help...

Second: I would go to http://get.live.com/ and download/install Messenger all over again. The reason for downloading again is to get a whole new installer file... just in case something was corrupted the first time.

I hope that one of these suggestions works.
