Default Is it true that its possible to still get a tan if swimming in the sea

or a swimming pool? I heard that the water magnifies the sun - but then my Mum told me that when i was a kid and it stuck!

It is possible to get sunburnt swimming in the sea or pool. Sunlight penetrates water up to 25 feet.
