Default is there too differences between ASP.NET2 and 3.5?

I want to learn ASP.NET ,i have some .NET2 books but just one .NET3.5 book.my question is should i start with .NET2 books or its better to buy some .NET3.5 ? i know there r some new thing like LINQ in 3.5,but i want to know in normal web application with data access and authentication r they the same?

The "base" of ASP .NET 3.5 is 2.0, so your ASP .NET 2.0 stuff won't even break if you are compiling it as an ASP .NET 3.5 application. So, to answer your question, data access and authentication is the same.
